A GRANDAD’S WISH
A man in solitude has time to wonder,
Regarding the birth of a gem Down Under.
He hung out for the tone of a telephone ringing,
‘Til the message came to set his heart singing.
Baby Emerald and Mum sleeping at peace,
The pain and distress have begun to cease.
The new born angel, so chubby and cute,
With sparkling eyes and hair to suit.
This proud Grandad in ecstatic refrain,
Spreading the news in the tropical rain.
The delight of it all, so easy to trace,
Just look at the smile on his bristled face.
His dreams of a growing young Em,
Holding his hand and yarning of when,
She laughed and cuddled upon his knee,
Describing the things he tried to see.
So Em, as you grow and learn thru’ the years,
Hold your arms wide and limit your fears.
I will share with you stories of all the miles,
And wish you a life of ‘Rainbows and Smiles.
