Bathing Dilemma

Queeny is my delight in life. It is difficult to find fault in her. I usually laugh at her wrong-doings and find it hard to be angry.

Following bathing her with oatmeal shampoo and conditioner, I was sharing my pride in her at the computer. Telling a friend how soft and fragrant her coat was.

As I sat at my computer, Queeny strolled in and lay down on her bed. Suddenly, the room was filled with an odour I am very familiar with. Horse shit!!

What can I say? Queeny had been down the paddock and rolled in, (obviously fresh), horse droppings. It was a strong stench, throughout her neck and face. Her collar was impregnated with the muck.

My pleasure in the fragrance of oatmeal was apparently not shared by Queeny.

It was too cool to bath her again, so I filled a bucket with warm soapy water and endeavoured to sponge her down, to rid her of the smell. I had to soak her collar. It reeked like a stable floor. Thinking I had cleaned her up, a friend called by and commented on the strong odour still lingering!

I lit incense and hoped to rid the room of the smell. Meanwhile, Queeny seemed puzzled as to why I wasn’t keen to play with her? All I was hoping for was a warm tomorrow, so I could bath her again. This time with tea tree oil shampoo!

I still luv her dearly!
