Queeny’s trip to Queensland.

On March 2, 2010, Queeny was my escort on a two flight journey to visit a friend in Rockhampton, Queensland. We stayed 10 days at the seaside town of Yeppoon whilst we visited our friend in hospital.

Queeny was at all times calm and assistive during our long distance travels. At airports, on planes and riding  for hours in cars, she showed her devotion to work and enjoyed many new experiences.

Queeny won the hearts of flight crews and passengers on our four flights. I gave her treats to chew when we descended for landings as a distraction and to ease ‘ear popping’. On one occasion, a hostess remarked, “Queeny was best behaved passenger”.

We walked the beaches at Yeppoon and Queeny was fascinated by the BIG puddle. She enjoyed a dip in the water and most times I could walk on deserted beaches without harness. I carried a talking watch. We walked 15 minutes one way, turned around and walked another 15 minutes which brought us back to our beach access.

Following this trip I am contemplating a move to sunny Queensland to be closer to friends and the opportunities to do more of the same.
