Queeny Settling In At Calliope

Queeny has a double futon in an alcove outside my bedroom. She has a
sheet over it and three pillows. For her added comfort, she has a folded blanket across the foot of the bed. Sometimes she sleeps with head on pillows. other times she scruffs up the blanket to suit her mood......ha,ha. She really is a GEM.

She has been wandering down the gully lately where a neighbour’s horse grazes. Queeny has been snacking on horse shit. I had to give her an apple yesterday to freshen her bad breath. Couldn't have her in the local pub at lunch time stinkin’ like a stable floor.....crickey

She got grounded and restricted to the backyard as a result. I will continue to
treat her this way if she keeps going down the gully. She is not keen on
isolation, although the backyard is a large fenced area.  If I have problems
modifying her behaviour I will contact GDQ for advice? I don't want to keep
her indoors when there is space to enjoy.

I told her, if she wants a horse shit diet, it would save me a lot of money. All I would need is a ready supply of apples! I think her response was a smile, but I’m sure she wants things as they are?

Each morning, we take a walk in the rising sun to the main road intersection at the bottom of the hill we live atop. Our fitness is improving as we power walk up the steep incline on the return trip.

Queeny loves sunbaking. I feed her ice cubes if I feel she is getting too hot. I have been advised lying in the sun is good for a dog’s bones, so I certainly won’t discourage her.

Her flea infestation has been overcome by the use of a product called Comfortis. I found this once a month tablet is remarkable in eradicating fleas, which are prolific in this region presently. Only a few hours after taking the tablet, Queeny stopped scratching as has not since.

Life is good here in Queensland.
